"Brand new writing by one of Oxford's rising stars"

"A five star production of a stunning piece of new writing"
                                                                   May Anderson, Cherwell

“With drama of this level, you don’t get anywhere without putting your neck on the line”
                                                               Fen Greatley, Oxford Student

"The acting from both Alashiya Gordes and Sarah Perry is flawless, but it is the relationship between the two characters, their verbal and physical intimacy with one another, which made this fantastic yet moving new play one to remember." ★★★★
                                                                              Alice Penfold, OTR

“It’s in stage 3. At the moment radiation would damage the foetus. Chemotherapy will have to wait too.”

Aurelie’s life is good. Pretty great, actually.  And then her diagnosis - cancer - throws everything into the air. For her, and her girlfriend, Ilona. But even in the hands of fate, there are too many choices: Aurelie is caught between the health of her unborn child and her own; her own wishes and Ilona's.

A surreal piece alive with laughter and sadness, She Was Yellow explores our attitudes to death and friendship, and how love can grow out of both. Ablaze with live music, this energetic ensemble examines the paradox of illness. Why, as death comes close, does life seem more glorious than ever?

Barbarian Productions, in association with Nous Theatre, brings you an exciting piece of new writing written and directed by the multi award winning writer and director Milja Fenger.
